MTN wins Fastest Mobile Network in Uganda Award
Ookla, a global leader in internet testing and analysis, has named MTN Uganda the fastest mobile network in Uganda.
The accolade was presented to MTN Uganda chief executive officer, Sylvia Mulinge, at the sidelines of the Mobile World Congress (MWC) held in Barcelona, Spain last week.
Ookla conducted several internet speed tests with consumers across Uganda between July and December 2023. Mulinge attributed the fast and reliable MTN internet speeds to consistent investments in coverage, cutting-edge infrastructure and innovative technologies to enhance network speed, coverage, and reliability.
Between 2020 to 2023, MTN Uganda invested over $300 million in expanding its network infrastructure throughout the country to bolster its services across Uganda and in line with the 2018 National Broadband Policy and Uganda’s Vision 2040 commitments.
"Being recognized as the Fastest Mobile Network by Ookla is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team at MTN. We remain committed to pushing the boundaries of innovation and setting new standards in mobile network performance to meet the evolving needs of our customers." Mulinge said.
