Lizzo Calls Out TikTok for Taking Down Her Swimsuit Videos: 'We Need to Talk'
Lizzo isn't happy with TikTok.
On Wednesday, Lizzo posted a video where she repeatedly sings the words, "I know," to the camera, but the real message is in the text overlay as the Cuz I Love You artist addresses the inexplicable removal of the clips she has shared of herself in bathing suits.
"TikTok keeps taking down my videos with me in my bathing suits," the clip reads. "But allows other videos with girls in bathing suits. I wonder why? Tiktok... we need to talk."
With the video, Lizzo seems to be implying that TikTok removed the posts due to her body type. Lizzo has previously addressed the issue and said that she's comfortable and confident while also pointing out the double standards when it comes to people's bodies.
"When people look at my body and be like, 'Oh my God, she's so brave,' it's like, 'No, I'm not,'" she previously told Glamour. "I'm just fine. I'm just me. I'm just sexy. If you saw Anne Hathaway in a bikini on a billboard, you wouldn't call her brave. I just think there's a double standard when it comes to women."
"I don't like it when people think it's hard for me to see myself as beautiful," she continued. "I don't like it when people are shocked that I'm doing it."
Her body has become a topic of constant discussion with Jillian Michaels recently asking, "Why are we celebrating her body?" The fitness guru and TV personality eventually walked back her remarks.
